Louis Vuitton Rolls Out New Luggage Line

Australian designer Marc Newson has teamed up with design-powerhouse Louis Vuitton to create what is possibly the  most advanced and chic line of carry-on luggage,  catering to discriminating travelers.  This new rolling-line of iconic Louis suitcases are constructed in a manner that keeps them extremely light and compact, with a retractable handle and flat top that is designed for aerodynamic efficiency.

Newson describes his design as “something that’s very, very, very, light and very strong, but also provides the maximum volume of space, of usable space.”

The material of the bags is not carbon, but a woven material that is recyclable and semi-flexible, making it slightly pliable and extremely durable.  In addition to its Monogram and Damier canvases, the bag will also be available in seven bright colors of Epi leather.

The new Louis Vuitton carry-on luggage line revives the revolutionary spirit of the luxury brand that goes back to the fashion house’s creation of the flat-topped trunk that could be stacked in both trains and boats.  While the more familiar “Louis” bags have changed very little in the past, their level of luxurious durability and quality proceeds them.
